Commonly asked questions:
What is the Treatment Procedure for a NV Micro Peel?
During a NV Micro Peel, an anti-peel acidic stimulant is applied to the target areas, by a licensed esthetician, nurse or dermatologist. This procedure is normally performed in the doctor’s office or spa (i.e. medical or cosmetic). It typically takes between 15 and 30 minutes to apply the peel. When you arrive for your scheduled appointment, your medical provider washes your skin carefully and applies a glycolic acid-based solution (i.e. 20% to 30% concentration) to your skin. Once the peel is successfully applied to your skin, you are released. It is important to note that you may experience slight itching, burning and/or stinging during the application process and/or immediately following the treatment. Do not fret – this is normal.
Place a cold compress or ice pack on the sensitive areas until the discomfort subsides. Afterwards, apply a moisturizing cream to your skin to prevent dryness. One of the best advantages associated with the NV Micro Peel is that you can immediately resume your normal activities. You can even apply make-up, following the treatment, unlike most “traditional” chemical peels. Your friends, relatives, co-workers or even strangers will not be able to tell you even had the procedure, regardless of your skin tone. In fact, all they will be able to see is a more youthful, “glowing” you!
What are the “Pros & Cons” of this Treatment?
Well, the NV Micro Peel is not only more effective, the recovery time is astronomically fast, as compared to most other skin peels. This peel not only improves your skin texture, evens out your skin tone, and enhances your overall appearance; it also reduces enlarged pores, wrinkles and fine lines. It removes damaged and dead skin so that new, healthy and youthful skin can emerge. Although the “pros” are amazing, there are some “cons” associated with having this procedure. For instance, deep wrinkles and heavily-crested skin folds nay not receive the maximum results. In addition, in some severe cases, this treatment may not significantly improve an irregular skin tone. Furthermore, if you normally have sensitive skin, you may experience prolonged skin inflammation (i.e. two or three days), following the treatment.
What Kind of Results Should I Expect?
You should expect shedding skin. You skin will shed dead skin cells in order to allow new, healthier skin to emerge. You should experience the full results of the peel within two weeks. To receive optimal results you will need to schedule at least 6 micro peels – with two week breaks in-between. Following the 6 peels, you will be able to reduce your maintenance schedule to once every 6 to 12 weeks. If the maintenance schedule is not followed, your skin may return to its original state.
